The ten rules for corporate clone drones

  1. Do not demonstrate enthusiasm.
  2. Do not smile or laugh in public.
  3. Do not demonstrate any passion.
  4. Maintain composure at all times.
  5. Do not communicate stories.
  6. Communicate in a monotone manner.
  7. Do everything your boss tells you.
  8. Never think for yourself.
  9. Never question your boss.
  10. Never consider thoughts outside of our group.

These ten steps are critical for America to slide from the world’s super power to maybe #3 or 4 by 2015.

Use great caution with enthusiastic people. We need to fear their brilliant minds. They may be innovative and therefore dangerous. Their sincerity, passion, laughs, and smiles are offensive. They make the rest of us look bad. I say we burn them at the stake. After all, they’re sort of like witches, aren’t they?

Wow, that is pretty heavy indeed. Yes, well I could not agree more. This is a huge problem indeed. I wish it were not so. Perhaps the more people discuss these things the better, as this possible future could be more real than we would ever care to imagine.

You forgot teamwork, professionalism, and consistency. You creative types always want to get wealthy playing with paint, words, images, feelings, etc. But you throw a fit if the trains don’t run on time. The “stupid” stuff giant corporations and their “drones” do is far below your elite contribution. Shut up and inspire us, entertain us. You just look ridiculous when you attempt to diminish the contribution of the people who keep your electricity, water, cable TV and internet running.

    • Dear Brady,
I appreciate you stopping by, taking the time to read my blog, then share your comments and thoughts. Many people would just go on by. So thank you for entering into a discussion.

I believe we need both right brained and left brained people in corporate America–it’s how you create a great culture. Unfortunately the financial crisis was dominated by right brain people. You can choose to accept or reject my opinion. That’s all it is–my opinion.
